Eco Schools liaison volunteer

Epsom and Ewell's Climate Action Network (CSVA)

Organisation: The Epsom and Ewell Climate Action Network develops and delivers projects to help our communities become more resilient to the effects of Climate Change. About eeCAN eeCAN develops and delivers local projects that support nature, encourage climate-friendly living, and helps our community take practical steps to reduce climate impact. We work with residents, volunteers, and partner organisations to protect and enhance our local environment.

Location: Epsom & Ewell and adjacent areas

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per week, flexible

We have already started to liaise with local schools and colleges who want to participate in our Living Rivers Community Art Exhibition that took place in April and May 2026. We also attended SE Surrey Eco School summit in Reigate on 20/3 and now want to follow up our engagement opportunities with all our Eco schools in 2026/27

We are looking for someone to continue liaising with these educational establishments so that they know how our Epsom and Ewell Climate Action objectives volunteers can work with them to complement and add value to the delivery of their curriculum.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop if there is a demand; Pre School and Primary schools workshop about the weather ; and deliver Climate Negotiation Workshops with Secondary Schools as has been done successfully in Godalming over many years.

What You’ll Do:

• You will work with other volunteers engaging with teachers and students about environmental and Climate Change to raise awareness and deliver fun projects together

• What You’ll Get: • A chance to work with existing local educational and youth organisations to shape and deliver education programs that help them achieve their students learning objectives

• Support/guidance from our Climate Action Network members including sharing many other educational projects already being delivered in other towns locally

• Enjoyment working collaboratively in a friendly team

What skills do I need?

Is This You?

You have some experience of working with educational establishments and are keen to help their students learn more about the natural environment and Climate Change.

You don’t need formal qualifications although experience of lesson planning and teaching would be an asset
