Do you enjoy speaking to people and building relationships? Are you confident reaching out to businesses and asking for support? Join Midasplus, a small, hands-on local charity, as a Volunteer Business Fundraiser and help us secure donated prizes that make our fundraising events successful and impactful.

Midasplus supports individuals and causes across Middlesex, Surrey, and nearby areas — especially those who fall through the gaps in mainstream services. Our fundraising makes a real difference, and your role will help us reach even more people in need.

Working flexibly around your own schedule, you’ll contact local companies, hotels, and other businesses to request donations such as vouchers, gifts, or experiences. These items are used in raffles, auctions, and fundraising events to raise essential funds. This is a great role for someone who is outgoing, well-organised, and happy to make connections in person, over the phone or via email.

What skills do I need?

This role gives you the chance to sharpen valuable real-world skills:

• Communication and persuasion – confidently approaching new contacts and making clear, friendly requests for support

• Relationship-building – creating and maintaining positive connections with local businesses

• Organisation and planning – keeping track of contacts, following up effectively, and helping schedule or support events

• Creativity – thinking of new ways to engage donors and pitch fundraising ideas

• Confidence and resilience – learning to stay motivated and positive even when some requests are turned down
