Bike and Tech Amnesty 2026 Volunteer

Epsom and Ewell's Climate Action Network (CSVA)

Organisation: The Epsom and Ewell Climate Action Network develops and delivers projects to help our communities become more resilient to the effects of Climate Change

We ran a very our first successful Bike Amnesty on Saturday 22/11/2025 which resulted in about 70 bikes and bike accessories being donated which we arranged with Surrey county Councils Active surrey Team to be refurbished and then given FREE to local people who would cycle more if only they could afford their own bike. We want to extend this service in 2026 to a "Bike and Tech Amnesty" which will happen on Saturday 24th October when people will be able to also donate their spare tech so it can be made "data safe" and then refurbished and provided to disadvantaged people. This initiative will also raise funds for local charities.

Location: Epsom & Ewell and adjacent areas

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours per month between July and October and then 4 house on 24/10/26

Start Date: July 2026 now the date and venue for the Bike and Tech Amnesty has been booked for 24/10/26 9am to 5pm

You may also want to develop the role to help Us raise awareness and use of SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT and ACTIVE TRAVEL including promoting with partners:

1 More safer cycling routes/stands – in partnership with the cycle forum and Cycling England?

2.Promote the safe use and maintenance of electric bikes and scooters

3 Promote more use of Public transport especially for those without car transport

4 Work with partners to provide bike mentoring and repair locally

What You’ll Do:

• Work with other volunteers to deliver our 2026 Bike and Tech Amnesty Day

• Liaise with other Volunteer leads promoting Active travel and putting in place new services

What You’ll Get:

• A chance to shape and deliver projects that promote more sustainable travel

• Working collaboratively in a friendly team to deliver our Annual Bike and Tech Amnesty

Is This You?

If you are a keen on cycling and encouraging others to cycle by getting more "spare" bikes back into circulation and helping local people recycle their spare tech in a safe and sustainable way then this is the role for you.

Experience as a cyclist or with tech recycling experience.

  You need no formal qualifications just have a passion for cycling and want to enable other to cycle more.

Time Commitment & Support · This is a flexible volunteer role, and we appreciate any time you can give. · Ideally, we are looking for someone who can commit 1-2 hours per week and then work with other volunteers on two Saturdays a year to receive the donated bikes and tech on the dates agreed . · We will provide support and guidance · Our Climate Action Network Team will provide full support and guidance—you’ll be joining a welcoming and collaborative team who want to make a difference in their local community
