Volunteer Communications Lead

Love Me Love My Mind is a small registered charity based in Epsom Surrey which aims to promote better understanding of mental health and to support the well-being of everyone in the community.

They are Looking for a volunteer communications lead to join their team.

Role Purpose 

To lead the charity’s "voice," ensuring that our message of mental health understanding reaches the local community. You will be instrumental in promoting our weekly groups and the high-profile Epsom Mental Health Week. 

Leadership & Management Responsibilities 

  • Strategic Oversight: Manage tasks effectively to ensure the charity’s communications calendar is consistently populated and aligned with key awareness days (e.g., World Mental Health Day). 
  • Internal Liaison: Act as the primary link between the Chief Officer and trustees, providing brief monthly updates. 
  • Social Media Management: Create and schedule engaging content for social media channels, and review all content before publication. 
  • Campaign Coordination: Lead promotional efforts for current projects and key events, particularly the annual mental health week held every October. 
  • Content Creation: Produce regular newsletters using mailchimp and create on brand email campaigns. 
  • Press & PR: Draft press releases for local Epsom publications. 
  • Brand Guardian: Ensure all communications are empathetic, non-judgmental, and aligned with the charity’s values. 

What skills do I need?

Skills & Experience 

  • Communication Expert: Strong writing and storytelling skills with an ability to tailor messages for different audiences. 
  • IT & Design: Proficiency with social media platforms, the meta business suite and basic design tools like Canva. 
  • Leadership: Ability to work independently and lead other volunteers 
  • Community Connection: Knowledge of the Epsom and Ewell area is highly desirable to better target local outreach.
