Volunteer Arts & Crafts Group Facilitator

Love me Love My Mind (CSVA)

Love Me Love My Mind is a small registered charity based in Epsom Surrey which aims to promote better understanding of mental health and to support the well-being of everyone in the community.

Role Purpose

To create a safe, relaxed, and non-judgmental space where members can express themselves through creative activities. Your goal isn't necessarily to teach technical mastery, but to facilitate "creative therapy" that helps reduce anxiety and fosters social connection during a regular weekly session.

And also to support volunteers at our Children's art and craft sessions at Epsom Metropolis.

Main Responsibilities

  • Session Planning: Prepare simple, accessible art activities that individuals of all abilities can enjoy.
  • Engagement: Encourage members to participate at their own pace, providing gentle guidance and a friendly ear.
  • Materials Management: Liase with the Chief Officer to put out "calls for donations" and manage the existing stock of art supplies.
  • Environment: Manage the setting up and clearing away of supplies each session, ensuring the space remains welcoming and tidy.
  • Exhibition Support: Occasionally help curate small displays of work for the annual Epsom Mental Health Week.
