Volunteer Advisor (SH)

We support Surrey Heath residents looking for employment, training and volunteering activities. 

Our volunteers help clients to identify their strengths and provide them with guidance on applying for jobs, work-related advice and local experience.

Could you advise others about jobs and careers?  Do you know about opportunities for training? Camberley Job Club needs your skills as a volunteer to help people of all ages looking for new employment or a change of direction.

An increase in unemployment is evident since COVID and we urgently need more volunteer advisers to give unemployed people of Surrey Heath encouragement and hope.

The Camberley and District Job Club is funded by Surrey Heath Borough Council.  We are a voluntary organisation whose aim is "to support individuals in their search for employment, training and volunteering activities and to assist them in overcoming barriers and issues they may encounter."  

What skills do I need?

-  The ability to listen sympathetically and constructively

-  Good communication skills

-  Organisational skills to help develop and agree a way forward with the client

-  Familiarity with on-line searching and basic office software
