East Surrey Museum (VASE)
East Surrey Museum is the local history museum for East Surrey, based in Caterham, but covering the whole district.
We have a range of volunteering opportunities, including:
We are particularly keen to recruit stewards. Stewarding involves greeting members of the public, answering queries and handling sales from the Museum's shop.
Skills required are dependent on the role undertaken. For stewarding, an ability to deal with members of the public and to handle cash and card transactions (for which training is provided).

The Museum is open Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:00-17:00 and Saturdays 10:30-16:00. Stewards usually volunteer for a morning (from opening time until 13:30) or afternoon (from 13:30 until closing time) on an individual basis - commitment to volunteer on a particular day each week is not required. Other activities, such as research or conservation is undertaken when needed. Research and writing are sometimes done from home.
