Lend a Hand at Our Friendly Charity Shop – Volunteer Shop Assistant

The Salvation Army Charity Shop in Addlestone is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to support the daily running of the shop. You'll be part of a warm, welcoming team, helping to sort donations, steam and hang clothes, restock shelves, keep the shop tidy, and serve customers at the till.

Whether you're a student completing your Duke of Edinburgh Award (from age 14+) or someone looking to give back to the community, this is a great opportunity to develop retail, customer service, and teamwork skills in a supportive environment.

What skills do I need?

If you have a friendly, outgoing personality this could be a good opportunity for you.

The role includes:

• greeting and helping customers
• promoting the shop using social media
• spotting and promoting fashion brands
• keeping the shop clean and tidy
• operating the till
• sorting and pricing donations of clothing, books and bric-a-brac
• making minor repairs to and cleaning donated items ready for sale.

... and providing great customer service, by providing a friendly face to customers.
