School Gardener - Horley Infant School

Horley Infant School (VASE)

Can you give Monty Don a run for his money? Do you have green fingers and love being in the outdoors? Then we need you!

Horley Infant School is a large infant school with 270 pupils aged 4-7. We have good sized grounds and involve pupils with elements of site upkeep and also are ensuring that growing produce becomes a greater part of our school curriculum.

However, our site could do with the magic touch of individuals who would love to ensure the flowerbeds, plant-pots and hanging baskets are well-maintained. Do you have an eye for bedding plants and the upkeep of perennials? If so, this volunteer role may be perfect for you!

There is a small budget available but we are also happy for individuals who have grown their own plants and would like somewhere in the community to display their achievements to get in touch. Also, if interested, there would be scope to complete some gardening with small groups of children or even begin a gardening club. This would of course only be if the individual would be happy to – if you would prefer to just get your head down in the gardening zone, we also completely understand!

* Please note, we are only able to process new volunteering applications during term time.
