At Staines Shopmobility, we help people with mobility challenges rediscover the joy of independent shopping. As a Scheme Assistant, you'll be the friendly face that makes it all possible - welcoming users, maintaining our equipment, and ensuring everyone feels supported. Whether you're demonstrating mobility aids, handling admin, or doing safety checks, you'll directly improve people's quality of life.

Your Role Will Include:
• Warmly welcoming service users and assessing their mobility needs
• Demonstrating and adjusting mobility equipment (scooters/wheelchairs)
• Handling bookings, enquiries and light office administration
• Performing safety checks and basic maintenance on equipment
• Keeping our premises clean and accessible for all

What skills do I need?

This role would suit an outgoing, empathetic person who enjoys meeting people and can work on their own or as part of a team. A good mix of numeracy, clerical skills, communication, IT and common sense will be helpful for this role. There are certain physical aspects to this opportunity so it would better suit someone with a good degree of mobility and physical strength.

Volunteers are sought to cover any period during our opening times, which are usually Monday to Saturday between 9.30am and 4.15pm.
