Bumps & Babies Parent Support Group

Help new parents feel welcome, supported and less alone.

Location: Staines, Ashford & Egham area (exact venue varies)

Time commitment: Flexible – usually a weekday morning or early afternoon

Join the NCT (National Childbirth Trust) local branch as a Bumps & Babies group volunteer and help create a warm, welcoming space for new parents and their little ones.

These informal sessions give new mums and dads a chance to meet others, chat over a hot drink, and let their babies enjoy a safe, friendly play space. This role is ideal for anyone who enjoys connecting with others and wants to make a meaningful difference in their local community.

What you’ll do:

• Set out baby mats and toys before the session
• Welcome parents and make them feel at ease
• Make and serve teas and coffees
• Chat to attendees and support a relaxed, friendly atmosphere
• Help with tidying up after the session.

Optionally: support small admin tasks (hall bookings, NCT website updates)

What skills do I need?

No special skills required, but to be friendly and reliable with an interest in helping new parents. 

 Full guidance and support provided – you’ll be part of a friendly local NCT volunteer team.

Details

The group meets every Monday morning from 10.30am to 11.45am. Volunteers will help from 10am to 12.15pm. You could help every week or join a rota and help a couple of times a month. You would need to be registered as a NCT volunteer and undertake a short online induction.
