Head2Head Sensory Theatre (VASE)
Our Memory Café consists of a lovely group of 12+ people with early to moderate dementia who attend with a family member for support.
The group is lively and very friendly. We have a wide range of activities including seated movement class, interactive games, live music, baking (with take-home meals) and, most importantly, lots of conversation.
Each session lasts two hours and the volunteer role is to support the group by welcoming people, being a smiley face, and encouraging conversations. It will involve making refreshments and helping with set up and clear away. If you are a baker we would welcome the occasional home-baked cake contribution.
You will be prepared to support young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties on our Work Experience Programme, encouraging them to socialise and gain hospitality skills that will help their future job prospects.
What skills do I need?
Being a good listener and empathetic. A positive team player, willing to join in with everything and smile! We will arrange a free DBS check for you.
