Surrey Heath Age Concern (SHAC)

Surrey Heath Age Concern - We’re looking for a friendly, proactive Events & Fundraising Volunteer to help us strengthen relationships with our existing supporters and connect with new people across the community.

·       Someone confident, personable, and happy talking to people from all walks of life

·       A proactive volunteer who enjoys getting stuck in and helping wherever needed

·       A creative thinker who can bring fresh ideas to our events and fundraising

·       Someone who enjoys building relationships and representing the charity

·       An interest in learning about grant writing or community fundraising

·       Supporting ourmonthly quiz nights andthree to four larger events each year

·       Getting involved in the practical side of events, setting up, welcoming guests, and chatting with attendees

·       Sharing ideas for new fundraising activities, partnerships, and community engagement opportunities

·       Assisting with grant and bid writing, including research and drafting (training provided)

·       Acting as a warm, positive ambassador for the charity in the community

What skills do I need?

·        Friendly, confident communicator

·        Comfortable engaging with supporters, businesses, and community groups

·        Enjoys meeting new people and building relationships

·        Happy to help at events and get stuck into practical tasks

·        Creative thinker with ideas for events and fundraising

·        Organised and able to support smooth event delivery

·        Interest in fundraising and learning basic grant/bid writing

·        Able to use initiative and work well as part of a team

·        Basic computer skills (email, simple research)

The time given by the volunteer is flexible and when needed for specific events.
