Parasports Club Volunteer (SP)

Make sport fun and inclusive for young people with special needs.
Spelthorne ParaSports Club is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team on Saturday mornings at Staines Leisure Centre. The club supports young people aged 5 to 25 with special needs — along with their siblings — through a variety of accessible and inclusive sports and activities.

As a ‘buddy’, you’ll join in the fun and help young participants try different sports in a safe, supportive environment. You’ll encourage, supervise, and engage with them to ensure they feel included and confident while having a great time.

No special qualifications are needed — just reliability, a friendly attitude, and a willingness to get stuck in. If you're 15 or older, enjoy sport, and want to make a difference in your local community, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: All volunteers over 16 will need a DBS check (provided free via the Council), and references will be required for all volunteers.

What skills do I need?

We’re looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly, enthusiastic, and enjoy working with young people
• Supportive, patient, and encouraging
• Comfortable joining in with sports or activity-based play
• Good communicators with a positive attitude
• Reliable and responsible, with a focus on safety.

You don’t need experience or qualifications — just a willingness to help and have fun!
