Group Assistant (HK)

The Group Assistant helps Welcare's Playworker deliver our drop-in group sessions.

The role includes setting up the playroom and outdoor play area for each of Welcare's group sessions (2 sessions each day, morning and afternoon). The role also involves joining in with the activities and providing a friendly and chatty presence for the parents, with the potential to provide cover to run the groups independently when Welcare's playworker is on annual leave.

The volunteer assists the parents and children to interact through joint activities, such as art, cooking/eating and singing.

What skills do I need?

Confident in speaking and listening to parents. Needs to be a team player and proactive in setting up the play areas after initial training has been given. Any fluency in other languages will be very welcome, as we support families from a number of different cultural backgrounds.
