Marie Curie (VASE)

Could you spare a little time each week to brighten someone’s day?

Marie Curie is looking for caring, local volunteers to visit people in their homes or community settings during the last year of life. It’s about simple things that make a big difference - having a chat, offering companionship, and being there when it matters most.

Availability: 3 hours per week

Time: Flexible to suit your schedule

Locations: Multiple locations available in East Surrey

Criteria: Aged 18 or over. A Criminal Record Check is required for this opportunity - Marie Curie will cover the cost of this.

What you’ll do

  • Visit someone once a week for a friendly chat
  • Listen and offer emotional support
  • Share helpful information if needed
  • Be a reassuring presence for families and carers
  • Signpost to relevant Marie Curie services
